Adapting Artificial Intelligence to overcome the social challenges of our era
Empodera Impact Stories speaks with Alice Piterova, managing director at AI for Good, a social enterprise that creates AI-powered technologies to help the most vulnerable and underserved. She manages a small team of 10 people and a portfolio of three huge international development projects.
In essence, they use AI to create experiences that people really enjoy and that address their most pressing needs, like safety, privacy, companionship, valid information, awareness, self-actualization. They make it happen through sustainable partnerships and, more importantly, exchange of domain expertise with charities and NGOs working on the ground.
She has over 10 years of experience in policy and communications, and a particular focus on such fields as tech for good, data privacy and machine learning ethics. She’s also the UK ambassador for Techfugees, the social enterprise coordinating the international tech community response to the needs of refugees.
