Ideathon for the SDGs in WSIS Forum: Using the Collective Intelligence Platform Empodera.org to create collaborative solutions
Fundación Cibervoluntarios will be participating in the WSIS Forum (World Summit on the Information Society), in a workshop in which it will present its Collective Intelligence Platform, Empodera.org.
This collective innovation tool is supported by the United Nations and is focused on creating citizen initiatives and actions to support the Sustainable Development Goals and the achievement of the 2030 Agenda
through dynamic participatory and innovative events.
The main objective of the workshop will be a practical part centered on creating an initiave for the SDGs through Ideathon for the SDG:
a platform within Empodera.org that works closely with social entities, organizations, companies and universities to power the acquisition of digital skills oriented to the achievement of the SDGs.
The workshop, that will take place from 12.00 to 13.00 hours (UTC+2) on April 21
, will count with the participation of two panellists from Fundación Cibervoluntarios: Ángel Sola, Head of International Programs and Ester Maestro, Head of European Programs.
Both will explain the way Ideathon for the SDGs, a tool inside Empodera.org, works:
- Providing the participants in the workshop with digital and certified tools to work on the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs in an online and collaborative way
- Helping to identify and select a specific SDG, investigate the situation at the local level and create and develop initiatives to act concretely with solutions to generate global impact
- Developing critical and purposeful thinking, which allows participants to be creative and innovate to transform their environment from local to global
- Showing success stories from previous "ideathons" made in Spain
Empodera.ORG, the online platform to be used and showcased, is a collective intelligence ecosystem that helps create concrete initiatives and actions to involve citizens in the achievement of the SDGs. Institutions, companies and civil society have in Empodera.ORG an online and collaborative tool, to generate social innovation processes, in a simple and useful way, to achieve the 2030 Agenda.
This initiative is based on a procedure created by university experts and a tested methodology that is certified by the Fundación Cibervoluntarios. The implementation of Ideathon for the SDGs has been adapted since 2020, taking into account the situation generated by COVID-19, with constant human and technological support online to create initiatives, coordinate actions, generate engagement, facilitate communication, measure the impact and guarantee the sustainability of everything that is generated before, during and after online events.
