The Cybervolunteers Foundationis a non-lucrative entity whose mission is To achieve that every person has the equal opportunity to access, know and use the New Technologies in order to bridge the digital divide and to foster the Knowledge Society.

To the Cybervolunteers Foundation, the digital tutoring work is something inherent to any web-surfer. The Cybervolunteers legitimated it on their First Encounter, held in December 2001. There, they set the foundation, structure and actions of the organization, which were carried out by a society, during the first three years. The Cybervolunteers personally explain the chances that the use of the ICT has to offer, in a useful, simple and effective way for the daily needs. By means of courses, talks, conferences, workshops, events, seminars, etc.

The goals of the Foundation are :

  1. To foment the adoption and use of ICT by citizens, NPO and institutions
  2. To promote a responsible and adequate use of contents, services, tools and access to Knowledge Society
  3. To impulse creation, recruitment and mobilization of a technologic volunteering
  4. To create a social conscience, generating positive, social and cultural behaviors, concerning the matter of ICT for the society’s development
  5. To erase all the barriers that would prevent people from knowing and using ICT, especially physical, social and cultural ones
